  • Disposal of old Palms:

    April 2 is Palm Sunday.

The Parish Office will accept old palms for proper disposal until April 28.

To properly dispose of blessed palms at home, they should be burned or buried and treated in a reverent manner (do not throw them in the trash).
  • Fasting & Abstinence:

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of Fast and Abstinence.

The Law of Abstinence (from eating meat) binds those from age 14 onwards. Abstinence from meat is to be observed on all Fridays within Lent and Passiontide.

The Law of Fasting (Ash Wednesday and Good Friday):
One full meatless meal as well as two other small meatless meals, that together are not equal to another full meal for those age 18 - 59.

  • 40 Cans for Lent Food Drive

The Knights of Columbus is partnering with Catholic Charities’ St. Lucy Project and asking each parish household to participate in this year’s “40 Cans for Lent” food drive. Please consider donating 40 canned food items (one for each day) throughout Lent, or all at once. Please no perishable items, expired foods, or anything in glass containers.  Place your donations in the labeled bins stationed at the Parish Office entrance or church vestibule.

Most needed items: jelly/jam, canned meat (chicken, ham, beef, tuna) and canned pasta.

Monetary donations are also accepted so if you prefer make a financial donation, please make your check payable to “CCDA” with “St. Lucy Food Project” in the memo line.

Contact Tony Paulson at [email protected] to arrange for pick-up of your monetary donation or you may leave your check at the Parish Office in a labeled envelope.
