St. Andrew the Apostle offers Religious Education for students in grades K-8 including Special Needs and Sacramental Prep (RCIC) students.
For 2022-23 Religious Education Classes will be held on Monday evenings from 5:30-7 pm and on Tuesday evenings from 5:00-6:30 pm.
St. Andrew offers a homeschooling option. Students in sacramental years (Grades 2, 7, and 8), may homeschool for religious education if they also homeschool for all subjects, full-time. Otherwise students in sacramental years must either attend a Catholic School or Religious Education in person. Students may homeschool for Religious Education during non-sacramental years (Grades K,1,3,4,5, and 6) after a discussion with the Director of Religious Education.
RCIC/Sacramental Prep classes will be held on Monday evening 5:30-7 pm for students (grades 2-7) who who have not yet received any formal Religious Education and/or are in need of Baptism, First Holy Communion, or Confirmation. Older students (grades 8-12) who are in need of Sacraments would attend the RCIC/Sacramental Prep class on Tuesday evening 5-630 pm.
Special Needs Classes will be held on Tuesday evening 5-6:30 pm for students with developmental disabilities.
St. Andrew the Apostle offers a variety of Adult Faith Formation activities including Apologetics, Bible Study, Book Club, and talks with guest speakers designed to increase and nourish our understanding of the Catholic faith and the Catholic Church.
Families who are parishioners at St. Andrew but attend another parochial school who are preparing to receive the Sacraments should register with St. Andrew Religious Education program for 2nd, 7th, and 8th grade no later than September.
The mission of St. Andrew’s Religious Education Program, which is rooted in and derived from the Roman Canon of the Mass, is simply and always to hold and teach the Catholic Faith that comes to us from the Apostles. We acknowledge the one Teacher, Jesus Christ, and remain steadfastly united to the Catholic Church.
At St. Andrew’s Parish, each child is seen as created in the image and likeness of God and as a reflection of His goodness. Realizing that God has created all things for His glory and our benefit, the challenge of being a living witness to the Gospel is central to the development of each student. Therefore, at St. Andrew’s, an understanding of Jesus and His message is essential to knowing Him, loving Him, and serving Him always.
The core elements listed below form the foundation and strength of St. Andrew’s Religious Education Program. With these elements we seek to cultivate the hearts, minds, and souls of our students to their fullest potential.
