  • St. Therese of lisieux, patroness of walking with purpose

St. Therese of Lisieux, Patroness of Walking with Purpose
  • "I, too, would like to find an elevator to lift me up to Jesus, for I am too little to climb the rough stairway of perfection...The elevator which must raise me to the heavens is Your arms, O Jesus! For that I do not need to grow; on the contrary, I must necessarily remain small, become smaller and smaller. O my God, You have surpassed what I expected, and I want to sing Your mercies."
    ~St. Therese of Lisieux

    St. Therese, pray for us!

  • Fall 2025/Lent 2026 Sessions:
Grounded in Hope: A Study of the Letter to the Hebrews

The next St. Andrew the Apostle WWP study will be Grounded in Hope: A Study of the Letter to the Hebrews. Since this is a 17 lesson study, we plan to break the program into two parts:

    • Fall 2025 (September 9 - November 20, 2025)
    • Lent 2026 (January 6 - March 19, 2026)

Participants may elect to register for the Fall session, the Lent session or both sessions (there is no requirement to register for both sessions). If you can only participate in one or the other, no problem!

There will be a second opportunity in December to register separately for the Lent 2026 session.

About Grounded in Hope: A Study of the Letter to the Hebrews
In a world where levels of despair, addiction, and suicide are rising, we need more than clichés or positive thinking. Grounded in Hope, based on the book of Hebrews, will help you encounter Jesus in such a powerful, comforting, and stabilizing way that He will become your lifeline.

Grounded in Hope, is ideal if you…
    • Long to know Jesus with greater intimacy.
    • Are ready to grow in your trust in Him as your true source of hope.
    • Have grown weary as you run your race and need encouragement to persevere.

There will be three sessions each week:
      • Tuesdays 10:00am - 11:30am
      • Tuesdays 7:00pm - 8:30pm
      • Thursdays 10:00am - 11:30am

While we will make every effort to accommodate your first choice, your session assignment must be confirmed by the WWP registrar. View the schedule here.

Please Note: Due to Federal holidays, feast days, and other parish activities, there are some dates where WWP will not meet. These dates are listed in each syllabus.
Spaces for this program are limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

    REGISTRATION CLOSES SEPTEMBER 3, 2025.

More details will be provided in a follow-up email to you, including your registration/session confirmation. There will be three weekly session times (listed below). While we will make every effort to accommodate your first choice, your session assignment must be confirmed by the WWP registrar. View the schedule here.

The fee for participation is $10 per session ($20 for BOTH sessions) and will cover the basic expenses of hosting the program. Payments should be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. Pay by check or through Faith Direct. Checks can be dropped off at the Parish Office. Please contact the Parish Office with concerns related to the fee or cost of materials.

The Grounded in Hope Bible Study guide is $45 (plus tax & shipping) and is the book we will use for both sessions. It is available for purchase on the Walking with Purpose website in both print and digital versions. The book may be ordered from WWP directly (Step 3 below) or you may join the BULK ORDER.

BULK ORDER:  To take advantage of some savings, Trish Burkat, WWP participant (and Parish Office staff member) will accept your request to be included in the bulk order. Ordering in bulk reduces the price per book to an estimated $49 per person including tax & shipping). Submit your request by email to [email protected] by FRIDAY, AUGUST 1 if you wish to order with the group. Orders can take 12-15 days to be delivered.

  • More about Walking with Purpose:

A Catholic Woman's Guide to Scripture

Walking with Purpose (WWP) is a Catholic Women’s Bible Study that aims to bring women to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Using scripture and weekly small group discussions, the goal of the WWP ministry is to link everyday challenges with solutions from the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church.

WWP is a tested approach open to women of all ages and backgrounds in our parish who want to grow in prayer and unity with God’s Word. Wherever you are in your faith journey, we hope you will join us.

    How does it work?
Participation in Walking with Purpose at St. Andrew will be in a small group setting. Most of the reading is done individually using your study guide throughout the week.

We also meet during the study to gather for Connect Coffees, which consist of social time and an online presentation of related bible talks and small group discussion. All meetings take place at St. Andrew the Apostle unless otherwise noted.
