  • St. Therese of lisieux, patroness of walking with purpose

St. Therese of Lisieux, Patroness of Walking with Purpose
  • "I, too, would like to find an elevator to lift me up to Jesus, for I am too little to climb the rough stairway of perfection...The elevator which must raise me to the heavens is Your arms, O Jesus! For that I do not need to grow; on the contrary, I must necessarily remain small, become smaller and smaller. O my God, You have surpassed what I expected, and I want to sing Your mercies."
    ~St. Therese of Lisieux

    St. Therese, pray for us!

  • A Catholic Woman's Guide to Scripture

Walking with Purpose (WWP) is a Catholic Women’s Bible study that aims to bring women to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Using scripture and weekly small group discussions, the goal of the WWP ministry is to link everyday challenges with solutions from the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church.

WWP is a tested approach open to women of all ages and backgrounds in our parish who want to grow in prayer and unity with God’s Word. Wherever you are in your faith journey, we hope you will join us.

    How does it work?

Participation in Walking with Purpose at St. Andrew will be in a small group setting (no more than 12). Most of the reading is done individually using your study guide throughout the week.

We also meet during the study to gather for Connect Coffees, which consist of social time and an online presentation of related bible talks and small group discussion. All meetings will take place at St. Andrew the Apostle except for the Fall Kick-Off Connect Coffee (Lesson 1) on Monday, September 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Details will be provided to all registered participants.

    FALL 2023 SESSION - SEPTEMBER 11 - NOVEMBER 16, 2023

    REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

The next St. Andrew the Apostle WWP study will be Beholding His Glory (September 11 – November 16, 2023). As we study the people and events of the Old Testament, we’ll encounter problems that only Christ will solve, needs that only He will satisfy, and promises that only He can deliver. Beholding His Glory shows us how all Scripture points us to our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. We’ll learn to recognize and appreciate God’s plan for our own lives, His awe-inspiring majesty, and His desire for personal intimacy with each one of us. This is the first part of a two-part series to be followed by part two starting in January 2024, Beholding Your King.

During this nine-week Bible study we will:
    • Learn how our Savior was first revealed in Genesis and how he is the answer to the issues of shame and fear
    • Understand important parallels between the lives of Moses and Jesus, and how both led their people to freedom
    • Accompany Joseph of the Old Testament on his life journey. The God who proved faithful to Joseph will not disappoint us!

There are three sessions (listed below). Each session is limited to 12 participants. While we have made every effort to accommodate your first choice, your session assignment will be confirmed by the WWP registrar. To view the syllabus for each session, please click the link each session below.

    • Tuesday AM (10AM – 11:30AM)
    • Tuesday PM (7PM – 8:30PM)
    • Thursday AM (10AM – 11:30AM)

Please Note: Due to Federal holidays, feast days, and other parish activities, there are some dates where WWP will not meet. These dates are listed in each syllabus.

The registration stipend is $10 for the complete nine week study. The Beholding His Glory study guide is available for purchase on the Walking with Purpose website. The study guide is $20 plus shipping. More details will be provided in a follow-up email including your registration/session confirmation.
    • If you have been confirmed for the Fall 2023 Sessions, the fee for participation is $10 per Bible study and will cover the basic expenses of hosting the program. Payments should be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. Pay by check or through Faith Direct. Checks can be dropped off at the Parish Office.
